CORPUS CORVUS

In 2012 an encounter in my backyard with a decomposing magpie-half buried in the snow- stimulated thoughts about the life cycle of this bird.

I deconstructed the image and created a series of collages that explored the life and death of the corvid family- Ravens, Jays and Magpies.

This series was resumed in 2018 at the Leighton Artists Colony at the Banff Centre during a residency. It was exhibited later that year in Canmore at the gallery in Elevation Place.
